I started playing through Death Stranding: Director's Cut last week in hopes to finish it before Death Stranding 2 came out. I'm in Chapter 8 (about 2/3 the way through) and I'm quitting. I don't feel great about the constant war allusions and the idea of carrying nukes around with what's going on in Iran. But even before the US attacked Iran I was kind of not feeling it.
I think the story is so weird and I want to understand what's going on. I do like the main plot with Sam and Amelie, I liked the story about Mama, but there are also all these small individual stories for the characters that I just don't care about. Having to deal with Heartman's whole deal was kind of the breaking point. I do find the gameplay pretty fun but combat is annoying and I HATE the war flashbacks.
Has anyone else played this?
