Okay so I've been thinking about why last night's episode bothered me. It feels like when there isn't a lot of blatant evidence pointing at someone, the roundtable will narrow in on someone who is just reacting differently from the rest of the group. Specifically I'm thinking about Peppermint in S2 and Nikki in S3. The votes that bother me are usually "Let's gang up on this one person who is different" in a way that feels like bullying. Maybe I'm thinking about it too deeply.

This week's Deal or No Deal Island has a mission that involves the group voting people out based on how useful they feel they'll be to complete the mission. But then they also allow the first four players who get voted out to get their own secret rules too. Between both parts it's created a lot of tension between players and created new dynamics.

I really wish Traitors leaned into this sort of thing more.

Sorry for not posting too much here on this, but I think it's because these last couple of eps have left me a bit bumfuzzled as to the story of the season:

If the story is Danielle is the victorious villain, why edit her to look like an incompetent player? It feels like the edit is for Brittney to betray her again, but now I'm thinking it will be a boring finale where the traitors steamroll the faithful into the final two and they split it (if there isn't a Traitors Dilemma like AUS did.) Why make Danielle so unlikeable? She doesn't seem that way outside in the interviews, but I dunno. If she wins, I'll have to reanalyze the season's narrative, but I can't hate the traitor for fooling everyone. That's the job.
