One of my coworkers in their mid-20s mentioned they had never played any of the Final Fantasy games but was interested after seeing Clair Obscur.

I recommended Final Fantasy X. My reasoning is that the story is very approachable and fun, it’s not a pixel game which could be a deal breaker for someone who didn’t grow up with them, and then they could play Final Fantasy X-2 which is objectively the best game ever.

In hindsight I could’ve also recommended FF7 Remake too, but I like my pick.

i haven't played a ff in 22 years so idk if i'm qualified to speak here but i get the feeling '96-'01 zoomers would be into VIII entirely on vibes
