Okay episode 7 was a masterpiece. I have a new theory:
Spoiler
I think Cold Harbor refers to IVF, as in you freeze the eggs as part of the process. The trauma that Gemma and Mark experience is giving up after the third round of IVF failing. We see Mark disassembling the crib and it impacting them both much more than the miscarriage did. I think Gemma tried to (or did) kill herself while driving to the friend hang and thus it's the ultimate trauma for Severance to shield you from. Him forgetting to say I Love You as she left was the final straw.

I think Innie Mark is having trouble completing the file because his body remembers the trauma of going through that experience with her. The other rooms were things that Gemma was afraid of but this was something that only happened to both of them. That also explains why he is the only one who can do the file while any refiner can figure out someone hates going to the dentist or in a plane crash.

He completed Allentown quickly because it was a more specific fear/aspect of her specific personality versus something everyone feels.

I agree it was a masterpiece and I love this theory so much. I wish I had more to add but I am still processing what that episode meant. I might watch it again just to take it all in.

Spoiler
Episode 8 was okay but I just didn't connect to the dying small town vibes that much. The revelation that Cobel is the one who invented Severance makes a lot of things make sense, but I'm more excited to just see what happens when we go back to the MDR refiners.

The finale was so good. Jesus Christ it was good. I was worried because it felt like after Episode 4's big climax not that much was happening but I'm very satisfied with how much they explained and where they left things at the end of the episode.

If we have to wait three years for another season I am going to have some words with Ben Stiller.

Oh my god you need to watch it and tell him you’ve voluntarily undertaken the severance procedure and haven’t seen it yet

I just finished it, quite quite good. But I don't know what S3 is going to be.

Spoiler
I think it'll be Innie Mark and Helly holding their outies hostage as they negotiate for innie rights. Gemma and Cobel will be working outside to take down Lumon (though Cobel might doublecross them and go back to Lumon).
