If it makes you feel any better, I think I see a lot of Coolidge's character in a lot of the LGBT community. There's a lot of people who are on the path to emotional recovery, who like her faced a lot of hardship domestically. Her character's interactions are complex in that she is both a perpetrator and a victim, sometimes one right after the other scene-to-scene. It's definitely true to some of the not-so-great experiences I've had with some in the past.

Though I do think you recognizing those aspects in yourself mean you're doing far better than she is. Tanya's biggest obstacle is her lack of self-awareness.

That and her lack of depth perception when it comes to jumping off of small distances!!
